I missed reservations for charecter dining - everything is already taken. It has been suggested that the Coral Reef would be a good place for a 5 year old? Do we have to go to Epcot or is it outside the park. Any suggestions for other "fun" res

    Hi Suzanne:

Don't give up on a character dining experience. Call back the Disney Dining Reservation line periodically. Sometimes you can take advantage of a cancellation. Also, let the reservationist know if you can eat early or late. Often such flexibility can be a great help with snagging a hard-to-get reservation.

That being said, Coral Reef is a wonderful and "fun" experience for kids (and adults) as you can eat with stunning underwater views. The restaurant is inside Epcot.

My personal favorite non-character fun Disney restaurant is Biergarten in the Germany Pavilion at Epcot. As you eat, you will be entertained by costumed musicians playing traditional German music. Dancing is encouraged, and on our last trip, our two young boys, 4 and 2, had a blast dancing with other kids on the restaurant's dance floor.
