Can military tickets linked to a specific person be changed to a different person if the trip is canceled or rescheduled to a different date?

    Welcome BACK, Kelley!

It's great to see you asking another great Walt Disney World Resort planning question to us hEAR at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'm a Military wife and this is a great question, because as we both know, things happen in this lifestyle. We actually had to reschedule my son's first visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth (twice!) because of the needs of the Air Force. I'm going to cross my fingers that everything for your trip stays in place, but I'm also going to offer some scenarios to help cover all of your bases:

Yes, if anything were to happen to a Walt Disney World Resort vacation that you currently have planned, things are able to be moved around to accommodate your new schedule. Specifically regarding the amazing Walt Disney World Resort U.S. Military Promotional Theme Park Tickets, the last day these can be used this year are Dec 18, and after that any remaining days are forfeited. However, the days on these tickets don't have to be used consecutively, so if you have the time you could break these tickets into two separate vacations by using a few theme park days this spring and the rest later in the year.

Yes, you can also reassign these tickets to someone else under a few conditions. As long as the ticket has not yet been used by entering a Disney Theme Park, you could invite your dad or friend or whoever to take the place of the original user. You should be able to unlink the ticket from the original profile in your My Disney Experience account and then assign it to its new owner, or you can call the ticketing help line to do so. Their phone number is (407) 939-5277. The only caveat is that either the Military Sponsor or the Spouse who was originally planning on attending this vacation still needs to be present as these tickets must be validated once at Disney with one of these Military IDs. So if for example, if my husband had to back out, I could invite my mom to join me and my son, but I couldn't give our tickets to my civilian sister so she could take her family while I stayed home.

If you must cancel your trip completely, and there's zero chance you could find time to visit later in the year while these tickets are still valid for 2020, and you've already purchased them, there are a few things that you could try, but they aren't guarantees. First, call Disney. These ticket are supposed to expire at the end of the calendar year, but Walt had a very big soft spot for our Nation's heroes and sometimes things can be done. These decisions are usually determined on an individual case-by-case basis, so again, no promises, but I'll wish for some pixie dust. Or, you could try to unload these tickets to a military friend or on a base yard sale social media page. As long as the purchaser is another military family with a valid U.S. Military ID who has not met their cap of redeeming up to six of these tickets for the year, they would have no problem purchasing and then using your passes as the validation process at Walt Disney World Resort would deduct these tickets from their annual allotment, not yours.

I hope this helped to clEAR things up a bit, Kelley. If you have any more Disney Military questions, or you'd like to know what needs to happen to shift around your Disney Resort Hotel reservation, I'm All Ears!
