Are there military discounts in the parks, for example souvenir stores, restaurants, extra events specifically Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween party? We are a military family visiting the park for the first time this October! We are so excited!

    Hi Tracy!

Besides the discount on hotel rooms and admission tickets, the answer is unfortunately "no", though I wish it was otherwise.  I will add, however, that it is generally less expensive to eat at the restaurants at the Shades of Green resort, across from the Polynesian, than the other resorts on property.  You just need to show your military ID to enter the Shades of Green!

By the way, since you said it will be your fist visit, I highly recommend picking up the book "The Complete Walt Disney World" by Julie and Mike Neal.  It's a fabulous book for first timers with just the right amount of information without being overwhelming.  It's also a beautiful book with lots of color photos.  It will give you a good feel for everything there is do at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Write back if you have any more questions!
