Where can I get military discount tickets if I am Not staying at Shades of Green?

Hi Ann! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. This is a great question as there are a few options when wanting to purchase specially priced U.S. Military Walt Disney World Resort tickets.

Shades of Green has similar amenities as a base or post, such as an exchange store and a ticket office that any person with a valid military or dependent ID can utilize, whether you're staying at this resort or not. Sales tax is not charged on purchases made here, which makes the Shades of Green ticket office really appealing. I've purchased tickets there while staying elsewhere and it was very easy. I've also heard that for a small fee you can purchase your tickets over the phone from this office to be mailed to you. There are of course forms that will have to be sent in to verify your eligibility as a service member or a dependent, but that's a great option if you'd like to get your tickets in advance of your FastPass+ window.

The next option is buying tickets on an actual military installation, whether you're based there or not. Ticket and Travel offices may have slight name variations depending on the branch of service, however they all have the same tickets. Note that some bases, usually the ones that are physically closer to either Disney Park, have these tickets on hand at all times; others have to order them as people buy them, so call first, or take that extra mailing time into consideration. These tickets will also not be charged sales tax.

You can also purchase military tickets at the front gate of all parks, minutes before you walk through the turnstiles. I've done this once for just myself, and while convenient for just one person, you will be charged sales tax this way.

I hope this helped Ann, and we'll see you real soon!
