Who has been in the middle of July? Are the lines long? We spend most of our time at a ball field all day in the middle of summer in Oklahoma heat, is it a different kind hot there?

Hi Sheila. Your question made my heart so happy. We are very similar..only our ball fields are in Texas.

July can be crowded. Planning will be key and your will want to take advantage of the Disney FastPass+ service both before your vacation and throughout the day when you are in the theme parks. My other tip is to do your best to wake up early and arrive at the theme parks at park opening so you can enjoy several attractions before the majority of the other Guests start to arrive.

We also try to plan a table service (or at minimum a quick service) meal around lunchtime or early afternoon. It not only allows us to rest but a nice ice cold cup of tea or water is beyond refreshing. As more Guests arrive, we typically head back to our Resort hotel for some pool time. After we have enjoyed the pool, we either rest for a bit or head back to a theme park in the early evening. While we do experience some heavier crowd levels, by using FastPass+ and spacing out our time, we are typically able to maximize our time in the theme parks and enjoy all of our must do attractions.

As far as the temperature is concerned...well...yes...it's hot and humid. However, you will be conditioned better than most due to your time spent on the ball field. Plan to do the same things you most likely do while you are at home. Use lots of sunscreen and drink tons of water so you can rehydrate yourselves. You will see a lot of cooling towels being worn by Guests as you make your way throughout Walt Disney World Resort. Moisture wicking clothes are great for the July temperatures. There are also plenty of indoor attractions or shady spots where you can relax and reenergize.

Rain or shine, warm or cold, you are going to have so much fun during your vacation. Enjoy every magical moment!
