We are going to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party on 11-15-15. Since we have a 5-year old, we cannot stay late. Any 'must-see's' for a little girl that likes princesses? Also, what time is the fireworks show during this special event? Thanks!!

Hi Laura! I've said it a million times, and I will say it again, Christmastime is my absolute favorite time of year to visit Walt Disney World, and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is my favorite event. I love all of decorations and Christmas lights throughout the parks, and I think it just makes the experience that much more magical.

Since you are anticipating potentially leaving early, I suggest taking advantage of the fact that you can enter Magic Kingdom park as early as 4 p.m. on the event night. Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party technically does not start until 7 p.m., however guests with event tickets have been able to enter as early as 4 p.m. Since there are a limited amount of event tickets sold, many of the attractions have little to no wait. I suggest waiting until after the party starts to meet Anna and Elsa, and Cinderella and Rapunzel at Princess Fairytale Hall. Last year during the party I was able to meet all four princesses with a 15-20 minute wait which is amazing compared to wait times during non-event days. You can also visit these princesses with a FastPass+ reservation as long as it is between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. After 7 p.m. Disney's FastPass+ service will stop. Typically during special events, the FastPass+ service is not necessary due to the managed crowd level.

For your little princess, I suggest experiencing Enchanted Tales with Belle and also the character meet and greets around the park. You can usually find Princesses Aurora, Merida, Tiana, Snow White, and Jasmine throughout the night. Since Christmas Party details are not yet available I suggest staying tuned to the Disney Parks Blog to find out when and where you can find certain princesses. I highly suggest staying to see Mickey's Once Upon A Christmastime Parade, also, Holiday Wishes: Celebrate the Spirit of The Season is amazing. Fireworks have historically shown at 9:30 p.m. on event nights.

If you need anything else please let us know. Have a magical holiday vacation!
