We are going to Mickey's Halloween Party for the first time at Disneyland in October. Do you have any advice or suggestions? We have children ranging from age 6 to 12

Halloween Time at Disneyland is definitely a treat (no tricks!), Amanda.  My family spent some time there just last year.  One of my absolute favorite aspects of a visit during October is the holiday overlay of the Haunted Mansion; you'll want to be sure to experience it!  It's an oddly festive, Jack Skellingtonized fusion of Christmas and Halloween--so much fun!  The older children in your group might well appreciate Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy.  I can vouch for it being super creepy!  And whatever you do, don't leave without heading over to California Adventure to see the amazing World of Color show.

As for taking in some fall ambiance, a stroll down Main Street USA during Mickey's Halloween Party is like a feast for your senses.  You'll see the intricately carved pumpkins.  Step inside the Blue Ribbon Bakery and you'll smell the rich scent of a pumpkin spice latte.  You'll hear the spirited ghosts and goblins carrying on during Halloween Screams (the exclusive fireworks show).  You can even taste fall, in a crisp candied apple.  There really is no shortage of fun and festive experiences to be had during your trip.

One last tip: do don your favorite family-friendly costume and trick or treat throughout the park during the party.  Have a spooktacular time!
