It has been mentioned that you can ship items (ie. diapers, formula) prior to your arrival to a Disney resort. Can you provide any details to do this? It would be helpful to know how far in advance, shipping address (contemporary), etc. Thanks!

Each resort handles the acceptance of packages in basically the same fashion. If you want to check on the arrival of your package, you can call from home to make sure it arrived safely. I would ship your package a few days prior to your arrival. Use the shipping calculator at your courier's website to figure out the exact date to ship. Have the package arrive the day prior to your arrival. Remember that many couriers do not deliver on Saturday and/or Sundays so factor that in to your timetable.

Shipping heavy items (such as water bottles) is not very cost effective. But snacks, diapers, and other lightweight items is a good way to save room in your luggage and to save money while at WDW.

Shipping via UPS, FedEx and by other courier services would get your package directly to the resort rather than to an internal PO box. If you use a tracking number, you can go online to UPS, for example, and see when your package arrived and who signed for it. Print this confirmation and bring it with you. This will save a long distance phone call to check on your items.

You will need to print the person’s name that the reservation under, resort address, arrival date and reservation number on the outside of the package. Therefore if I were sending a package to the Contemporary for a May 2 arrival, my label would say:

    Kim LaPaglia
c/o Disney’s Contemporary Resort Front Desk
Hold for guest arrival 5/02, Reservation #123456789
    4600 North World Drive
    Lake Buena Vista, 32830

Since US Airways just began a new baggage policy only allowing 1 check in bag per person, I may be shipping some stuff to the Grand Floridian in June!
