Are any of the "Moms" members of the Disney Vacation Club? I've been looking into joining for awhile but haven't made the plunge because I want to make sure it will be worth it and would appreciate any advice! Thanks!

Heather R, Beth, and I are Disney Vacation Club (DVC) members. I've been a member since 2001 and my home base is the Wilderness Lodge. The DVC is the main reason that our family has been able to afford so many fabulous Disney World vacations. Since the DVC can involve as substantial financial committment, I'm not sure that any of us would feel comfortable giving specific advice on whether to purchase points or not. I will say that we love being DVC members and that, in addition to vacationing at WDW, have been able to use our points to have great vacations at Disney's Vero Beach Resort, the Grand Californian at Disneyland, and even a non-Disney hotel, Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica, California.

In addition to making our vacations more affordable, the thing that really sold me on the DVC was the idea that it was something substantial that I could give to my daughters as they got older. I am picturing them using our points to travel to WDW with their friends during their spring breaks in college. And further, I hope that we can use our points to share WDW (and other travel) with our girls' families when they are adults.
