    Lorri from FL Asked

May we reuse our refillable mugs from a previous Disney visit to continue to enjoy coffee and soft drinks on our upcoming visit?

It's great to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Lorri! I'm so glad that I get to answer this question for you right before you head off for your visit to Walt Disney World Resort.

Refillable mugs are one of my favorite souvenirs to bring home from Walt Disney World Resort. I caught my husband drinking his coffee this morning out of one of the holiday-themed travel mugs we brought home from our trip this past December! Refillable mugs will last the length of your vacation, usually up to a couple of weeks, but the ones that you have from previous trips cannot be reactivated and used again on your upcoming vacation. The RFID chip that's inside the mug that activates the beverage machine won't last long enough for that, especially if it's been through the dishwasher or any extreme hot or cold conditions. Because of that, each new Resort Hotel stay would require a new refillable mug but I think that's a great excuse to start a new collection! They've been coming out with new designs a few times a year, I even saw special Halloween and Christmas designs this year, so there are plenty of characters and colors to collect.

If you're using the Disney Dining Plan, each person in your party will be able to pick out their own refillable mug to use for the length of your trip as part of your package! Just choose one from the display at the Quick-Service dining location at your Resort Hotel and it will be activated when you tap your MagicBand to check out and complete the purchase.

    Have a magical day, Lorri!
