How does MaxPass work in a family group w/3 children... we'll trade off who the kids are with. Can we switch who kids will be with? Does the fast pass stay attached to the ticket when it's scanned to app?

Hello, Karen! Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Disney MaxPass has quickly become one of my favorite things so I’d be happy to explain how it works! Disney MaxPass is available for an extra fee per ticket, per day. So if some of your children are over 3 years old and will be riding some or all of the attractions that offer FASTPASS, they will need to have MaxPass added to their tickets. Any children under 3 years old do not require a ticket nor a FASTPASS to ride an attraction with the family. When you select a FASTPASS with MaxPass, you will create a FASTPASS party and a FASTPASS will be assigned to each person of that party. So, if you and your husband are switching off riding the attraction, you will each use the FASTPASS that is associated with your ticket. When it’s time to ride, you can either scan the FASTPASS from your Disneyland app or scan your theme park ticket at the touchpoints to enter the queue.

Since it sounds like you have at least one child that may not meet the height requirements for certain attractions, you should plan to use Rider Switch. This service allows one parent or group of people to ride the attraction while the other parent waits with the non-riding child outside the attraction. A Rider Switch entitlement will be added to your tickets electronically that will allow the waiting parent and up to two additional Guests to ride the attraction with minimal waiting after the first group is done riding. Plus, you can use Rider Switch in conjunction with MaxPass to maximize your time.

I hope this helps clarify things for you. Have a fabulous time at the Happiest Place on Earth!
