Marisol, thanks for a well thought out response about shipboard accounts. Another question- Should gratuities on the cruise be done by stateroom, or can we do them for the whole group? Many thanks to all of you for so much help!

    Hi Arlene,

You can go either way with the gratuities, but it will depend on a few things.  If you are all enjoying your dinners together with the same Head Server and staff it would be fine to combine the gratuities.  The same goes for staterooms if you have the same housekeeper.  You'll know what type of service everyone is receiving.  This won't be a problem though.  The service on a Disney Cruise ship is of the"spoil you rotten" level.

Remember, you can also keep them separate if you want.  All you have to do is go to Guest Services and tell them how much you want to give the staff who served you and the charges will be placed on each stateroom account.  I normally settle my bill the evening before I leave the ship.  Here is the suggested Gratuities and Tipping guidelines for Disney Cruise Line.  Another tip, you can go to Guest Services and request to see your bill as many times as you want if you want to keep track of expenditures.  It's really easy to lose track of what you're spending when you're having fun.

Arlene, I really appreciate you coming back to ask me questions.  Please feel free to contact me if you need help with anything else.  I want to make sure that this special occasion is perfect for you!
