Margaret - I am traveling to Disney for work and will have some free time to myself. Are there any "behind the scene" tours available?

Now that is my kind of job-when they need me to travel to Disney World for work! Yes, there are numerous tour opportunites that you can experience while visiting Walt Disney World. I love the chance to take a peek behind the scenes and witness a little of how Disney really works. Many of the tours have a minimum age requirement of sixteen and most require a seperate admission into the parks on top of the price of the tour. There is often a great deal of walking involved and most are wheelchair accessible.

My favorite tour is held at Magic Kingdom and is called the Keys to the Kingdom. This tour takes approximately five hours and explores the history of the park, a brief look into the Disney family and some peeks at those backstage areas.  Other popular choices include a two hour tour around Epcot on top of a Segway called Around the World, or a up close look at the greenhouses at The Land pavilion in Epcot, called Behind the Seeds.

You can find a list with all the tours and further information here. Tours can be booked ninety days in advance and many fill up quickly so be sure to reserve your spot early. Contact 407-WDW-TOUR or 407-939-8687. Some discounts may be available to Annual Passholders, Disney Vacation Club members, Disney Visa card holders and AAA members, so be sure to ask.

Don't "work" to hard and have a great trip!
