Making our 1st trip in June and I was wondering if there are any advantages to NOT using the on-line check-in? We are staying at the Beach Club. Do the staff at the front desk have a preference one way or the other? What is the difference? Thanks,

Hi Tracy! Your first trip is right around the corner and your family must be bouncing off the walls like Tigger with excitement! There is so much to look forward to and I am sure this trip will be a memorable one for all of you!

The on-line check-in service is to try to shorten the wait time for the guests when they arrive at the Disney resorts. When you have done this ahead of time the cast members will have your packet ready for you so you can be on your way to your room or the parks. It is certainly not necessary as no matter what the front desk cast members will be available to answer your questions and make any changes you find necessary. During certain times of the day the resort check-in lines can be quite long especially if you are coming on a Magical Express bus or arrive when one does. Everyone is anxious for the magic to begin so the decision is up to you. If you are a person who likes to go over everything carefully and slowly so you understand all amenities etc then perhaps choose not to do the on-line service. Since this is your first time you might enjoy taking the extra minutes to chat with the cast members about everything that will be available for you and your family.

We have done it both ways many times and it is simply a personal preference which way to go. Disney continues to work on as many ways possible to allow families to not have to stop and wait but to start their vacations immediately once they step foot on property. Enjoy this great upcoming trip to Walt Disney World!
