I will be at the Magic Kingdom with my two children. One child is too short for some rides; can my 7-year old ride an attraction such as Splash Mountain on her own?

Hi, Albert! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms panel!

To board an attraction, children under age 7 must be accompanied by a person age 14 years or older. Being 7 your daughter may ride attractions on her own, provided she meets the height requirement, if you both feel comfortable in doing so. You may wait for her near the ride exit.

If you are traveling with another adult, you may take advantage of the Rider Switch option. This allows each adult to experience the attraction with the child able to ride while the other stays with the younger child. The second party riding will have a minimal wait time. We used the Rider Switch service many times when my boys were younger. It was easy and so very convenient!

    Have a magical vacation, Albert!

Meet the Panelist: Rachel, Wisconsin

Hi, I’m Rachel! I am a “boy mom” to two rowdy little men at home and married to my high school sweetheart. I am fortunate enough that my prince charming loves all things Disney just as much as I do! For me, planning a trip to Walt Disney World can be just as magical as being there. It brings our family together as we dream, plan, and count down the days. I would be honored to help plan your visit and share in your family’s very own magic! Learn More About Rachel
