Fireworks at Magic Kingdom

When Magic Kingdom closes at 9pm during the summer, and the wishes nighttime spectacular show goes on at 9pm, how are you able to watch the fireworks from Magic Kingdom or do they close the park to where you can't see the fireworks?

    Hi Nicole,

The Wishes nighttime spectacular often is scheduled at closing time at Magic Kingdom as a beautiful day-ending celebration. Guests are welcomed and encouraged to gather and watch the fireworks before beginning to depart.

But here's a little tip: Closing time isn't truly closing time. Guests who are already in line for attractions are still allowed to complete the ride. The shops also stay open past the official closing time, often for more than an hour as guests make their way toward the exits.

In fact, you may want to hang around for 20 to 30 minutes after Wishes to catch the Kiss Goodnight, a Magic Kingdom tradition that gives guests who have lingered past closing time a special end to their day.

The Walt Disney World transportation continues to run until at least an hour past closing time or until all guests have departed.

So please, Nicole, make plans to linger and see Wishes from inside the park. I highly recommend the Once Upon A Time castle projection show as well. Both will be a spectacular cap on your day at Walt Disney World.
