    Katie from LA Asked

Can you use Magic Bands as a ticket to get into the parks tab Disneyland?

    Hey Howdy Hey Katie!

I'm so happy you brought your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. It sounds to me like you are pretty familiar with the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida since you already have Magic Bands. Unfortunately, these are specific to that Resort and are unable to be used anywhere on Disneyland Resort property. With so many cool designs, though, you are more than welcome to wear one in the name of fashion!

Similar to the Walt Disney World Resort, the Disneyland Resort does have its own official mobile app which I highly recommend downloading before your trip. You can link your park tickets easily to this app and scan your mobile device as your ticket when you enter. This app also allows your phone to be scanned as your Disney FASTPASSES as well. If you upgrade your tickets to the Disney MaxPass feature you can even make FASTPASS selections right from your device all day. When taking PhotoPass pictures just have the photographers scan your app once your ticket is linked to see your pictures load autoMAGICally to the app.

While you cannot pay for purchases with the app as you can pay with your Magic Band at the Walt Disney World Resort, many Quick Service restaurants and retail locations do accept Apple Pay. This makes it really easy to basically use your mobile device as your ticket and wallet throughout your whole vacation. (I still recommend keeping paper tickets on you at all times, just in case!)

I hope this was helpful, and I can't wait for you to experience the magic and wonder of the Happiest Place on Earth!
