Do you have to use the magic bands? Can I just use the regular card like for the room key, passes, fast passes, etc..?

Hi, Heather! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Sometimes we might feel like Ariel gathering “gadgets and whatsits, galore”. “You want MagicBands, I got 20, but who cares, no big deal I want moooooooooore”. If you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel, then your MagicBand is your hotel room key. You will not be able to open it with a ticket card, as “Key to the World Cards” have been replaced. What is really great about MagicBands is that they do SO MUCH! They are: your room key, your FastPass+ voucher, your Disney Dining Plan credits, you can add a credit card on file at your Disney Resort hotel and make purchases with it and it is your Disney PhotoPass photo collector. As you can see, there are so many benefits to the MagicBand and they are complimentary for Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel! If you prefer not to wear one on your wrist, you may be interested in purchasing the MagicKeeper, which works with MagicBand2. These provide an alternative way of wearing your MagicBand.

I hope this answers your question. As for me, Flounder and I have a sunken ship to explore!

    Have a magical vacation,
