Are Magic bands a must ?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Jessica! As a fellow Jessica from Texas, I'm so happy to be able to answer your question today. If you're staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, then yes, MagicBands are a must and they are included for each person on your reservation as part of your vacation package. If you're not staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel on your upcoming trip in a few weeks, you might be wondering if it's worth it for you to purchase your own MagicBands. They have so many different uses, so let's chat a little bit about the different things MagicBands can do so you can decide if you want to pick some up for your vacation.

What I love most about MagicBands is that they allow me to travel a bit lighter during my vacation. I don't have to worry about carrying everyone's admission cards, making sure they don't get lost and that the right one is assigned to the right person, and also pulling them out of my bag whenever I want to enter a theme park or use one of my FastPass+ selections. All of that information is right there on my wrist so I only need to tap my MagicBand to access all of that and be on my way quickly. You can also use your MagicBand to link photos to your My Disney Experience account any time a Disney PhotoPass Photographer takes your picture! Speaking of Disney PhotoPass Service, if you are a fan of the photos you get on attractions there are some that you can only get if you're wearing a MagicBand, like the picture and video from Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and the new Hitchhiking Ghosts photo on Haunted Mansion.

If you decide that you do want to purchase some MagicBands for your trip, you still have time to order them from ShopDisney to be delivered straight to you! You can also pick them up at most merchandise locations when you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort. If you want to link your MagicBand to your My Disney Experience account before you start using your tickets, you can also purchase them at World of Disney at Disney Springs, or at some shops that are right outside the gates of the theme parks, like The Outpost Shop at Disney's Animal Kingdom or Mickey Gift Station at the Transportation and Ticket Center, which is where you catch the monorail or ferry boat to get to Magic Kingdom Park.

    Have a magical day, Jessica!

In fact, we even opted-out of a tropical honeymoon to spend a blissful week at Walt Disney World instead! I'm thrilled to be on the Disney Parks Moms Panel and I'm excited to share everything I've learned from all of our trips and help you plan a memorable family vacation.  Learn More About Jessica
