    Hi, Debra!

Thanks for visiting us again here on the Disney Parks Moms Panel and sending in another great question.

Your husband will sure be in for a big surprise on the final morning of your vacation! The Richard Petty Driving Experience at Walt Disney World Speedway is truly a thrill a millisecond! My husband happens to be a huge Formula One racing fan, so I can appreciate the need for speed.

You are absolutely correct that closed-toe shoes are required for this adrenaline-pumping experience. Since your hubby will be suiting up in a full racing jumpsuit, I would recommend wearing shorts. I think jeans could be very hot and uncomfortable under the jumpsuit.

As far as catching Disney's Magical Express to the airport, it should not be a problem getting back to your resort by 2:00 PM, provided his 10:00 AM reservation is for The Rookie Experience, King Experience or The Experience of a Lifetime since these packages last 2.5 hours each. However, the Speedway Challenge and Racing Experience packages include 50 laps on the track and last a total of 4 hours.

If you won't be driving your own car to the Speedway, Disney provides complimentary shuttle service from the Transportation and Ticket Center (which is adjacent to Disney's Polynesian Resort).

Wishing your husband the thrill ride of his life! Don't forget to bring your camera so you can capture his awesome performance on the track!
