I have made all dining reservations for our Sept 2010 trip but unfortuantely could not get Chef Mickey's for dinner. I keep checking for cancellations online and have called. Is it better to wait closer to our arrival date to see if something is avail.

    Hi Amy!

Chef Mickey's is probably at the top of the list for most popular restaurants at Disney World. It stays busy, even in non-peak months. Seems like you're doing all you can do. I would just continue to check periodically as your vacation date approaches. If a time slot comes available, it isn't long before it gets taken, so check as often as you are able. But you're right in that people do have change of plans as they get closer to the date as well. Since cancellations are required 48 hours in advance without penalty, perhaps select a day you'd like to attend, and call 2 days prior. Maybe there will be something available to reserve.

Best wishes on planning! If you get something booked, as Mickey would say, "Hot Dog!"
