I 'd love to see X-mas decor, but, likely Jan for 7 nights. What are the best Jan 2012 dates to see the decor but avoid heavy crowds? Also concerned with ride closures in Jan. Could you provide insight? Young married couple with no kids, POR preferred.

Unfortunately, Kathleen, historically speaking, the majority of the holiday decorations come down during the first week of January.  So, too, do most of the special holiday events cease during that same time frame.  If you were to visit during the first week of the month, you might be able to catch the tail-end of Disney decked out in holiday splendor, but you'll likely miss the majority of it.  That said, January does offer some great time periods to visit and avoid heavy crowds.  You'll want to avoid the marathon (January 5-8, 2012) and the Martin Luther King holiday.  If seeing holiday decor is a priority for you, I'd recommend to plan a visit during the first half of December to enjoy the festivity, while still avoiding crowds.  I hope that helps in your planning!
