Love the Moms! Our 1st WDW trip is soon. Because of ADRs and reserved fp at other parks, we'll visit AK in the afternoon (perhaps twice). I don't have any fp for AK at this point. Should I try to change plans? Really want to do K Safaris and LK show.

Hello Kimberly. Thanks so much, we love our readers! My goodness, you must be so excited for your first ever Walt Disney World vacation! Special memories and adventures are just waiting to be had.

I must let you know that Disney's Animal Kingdom is my favorite park. It might not boast many attractions and it might not have Dole Whip, but Animal Kingdom is one that stands out from any other park. Here, nature rules supreme. The unkempt trees and grass as well as the seemingly deteriorating buildings are all nods to the power of nature. Not to mention Animal Kingdom is home to over 1,700 exotic animals.
I'm happy that you are taking some time to enjoy the wildlife and nature that reign over this beautifully themed park.

If you haven't already, I suggest downloading the My Disney Experience App on to your smartphone. This App is a great resource because you can look up wait times for Animal Kingdom attractions while you are departing from another park on a Disney Transportation Bus.

Since you are planning on visiting Disney's Animal Kingdom after you have already used your three FastPass+ selections in another park, I suggest that you find a FastPass+ kiosk immediately upon entering the park. On your way to the kiosk, pick up a Times Guide to find out when The Festival of the Lion King will be showing. When you approach the kiosk let a Cast Member know that you have just switched parks and would like to make an additional FastPass+ selection. After looking at the wait times on your My Disney Experience App, you can make an informed decision on which attraction to select. After making a selection, I suggest heading over to Harambe Theater and catching The Festival of the Lion King. I wouldn't use a FastPass+ selection on the show because there is hardly a bad seat in the whole theater.
