I love that song from the carousel of progress, but I can't remember the name of it. Do you happen to know it?

It just so happens that Carousel of Progress is one of my very favorite Disney attractions, so I might just tell you more than you ever wanted to know! But first, the song in question is 'There's A Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow', and it was written by the Sherman Brothers. It has been released on a couple of Disney CDs in the past, and can currently be downloaded from itunes.

Carousel of Progress is near and dear to my heart for a couple of reasons, the biggest of which is that it's the only attraction in WDW that has a direct physical tie to Walt Disney himself. He introduced this show at the World's Fair in 1964, and it is said that he declared it his personal favorite attraction and vowed that it should never cease operation. Being inside that circular theater makes me feel a bit closer to the man who founded the magic - something I'm grateful for on every family vacation.

Another bit of trivia - if the narrator's voice sounds familiar to you, you've got a good ear. He is also the author and narrator of the beloved holiday classic film, A Christmas Story. Voice over actor Jean Shepherd recorded the father's part for the the most recent update of the attraction (1994).

    Hope that helps!
