I love to scrapbook so I plan to take lots of pictures of my vacation. (Also have Memory Maker) Are there any rules about taking pictures while on the rides?

    Hi Lori,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us another question! Although I’m hopeless in the craft department, I have several friends who love scrapbooking and I’m always blown away by the final product. And the scrapbooks that I’ve seen of their Walt Disney World Resort vacations were truly practically perfect in every way, especially if they purchased Memory Maker to get all of their Disney PhotoPass Service pictures.

Although there are no global restrictions for taking pictures on attractions, the best rule of thumb would be to always put safety first. Aside from making sure that you stay safely seated with your hands, arms, feet and legs inside your ride vehicle, make sure that any loose items, including cameras are safely secured. You don’t want to run the risk of losing them or, worse, injuring yourself or one of your fellow Guests. If you have any questions about what is or isn’t allowed on a given attraction, please ask the Cast Member who will be greeting you at the entrance. They’ll be happy to help!

In addition, there are several shows for which flash photography is not permitted, for the safety of the performers. There are also some shows for which photography is not allowed. Although an announcement will be made prior to the show, once again, please ask a Cast Member about whether a given show has any photography restrictions.

Finally, although I know that they can be extremely useful, please note that the Walt Disney World Resort Park Rules prohibit selfie sticks and hand-held extension poles.

Have a Magical Day and happy memory making!
