Hello. I love your practical advice. My husband, childeren & mom are leaving for Disney on Oct. 6th. My dad's flight arrives Oct. 7th at 7:15 P.M. We have ADR at 8:30 P.M at San Angel Inn. Can DME drop my dad off at Epcot or another close resort?

I may need to wave my wand to find a practical solution to your family's dining dilemma.

    1. Does your Dad want to use park admission for just an hour at Epcot?

    2. Verify that Disney's Magical Express reservations are showing your two separate days of arrival. Your DME reservation is "tied" to your resort reservation.

Unfortunately, I have not heard of exceptions to the policy that DME is for transfer to and from the resort where you are a registered guest. DME does not drop off at the theme parks. Dad might be able to request a ride to the Beach Club at the DME desk so that he could then walk through the International Gateway to meet your family for dinner. Still, I'm concerned about your Dad getting there on time.

Best case scenario: Dad's flight actually arrives on time and  is near the front of the plane for a speedy exit. He then arrives to no line at DME and quickly gets assigned a bus.

Even with no wait, it took us 75 minutes from the time we exited the plane until we arrived our resort. Arriving via the Beach Club your Dad is going to have quite a walk before he arrives the restaurant. Taking a taxi would speed things up a bit but it's still at least a 25 minute ride from the airport to WDW. If he gets a taxi, he'll have to get his luggage.

I wouldn't put Dad through the stress. Your family will be watching the clock rather than enjoying your meal. Perhaps your family can dine at San Angel Inn and have Dad eat at the airport or upon arrival at the hotel.

I think it's impractical to use a day of park admission just for dinner. By the time you exit the restaurant, the park will be closed. This is such a lovely restaurant and would be best enjoyed if you could linger AND relax.

So I suggest Dad eats on his own or perhaps you dine at San Angel on another evening.

I hope this helps you figure out the best plan for your family.
