I love your panel!! Our 1st trip to WDW w/DDP is 12/31-1/7 w/our 10,7,and 3, yr. olds. Is it wise to make reservations for breakfast and dinner? I am worried about having enough time to see the sights and sit down at all of these meals. Will it be to much?

It depends on who you ask Dione, but since I'm the one answering, let me assure you that we've successfully toured that way.

Some families find that they would rather do breakfast in the room, dine at counter service locations for lunch, and then treat themselves to a sit-down dinner.  I'm the first to admit that doing things that way would save some time, but having done it that way myself, I can honestly say that I like the itinerary you suggest better.

My family thoroughly enjoys the sit-down meals we do at WDW.  We like to show up at the park at opening and get in a few good hours of touring before the parks start bursting at the seams with crowds.  We schedule late breakfasts (around 10:30 for example) and fairly early dinners (around 5:30 ish) and we tour the park/ take afternoon breaks in between.  This typical touring plan works well for us because we love to experience as many of the sit-down restaurants as we can during our trips.  We also aren't big fast food people and so the "real" food helps to energize us for the day.  Lastly, because we have four children, trying to maneuver through the counter service restaurants tends to be a difficult experience and we'd much rather just have a server come to us!

You can expect for the sit-down meals to last anywhere between one and two hours.  If you try it that way for a couple of days and it doesn't work for your family you can certainly cancel your ADR's and opt instead for a few counter service meals.

Whichever route you choose, you should know that you won't have time to see it all.  I've been to WDW many times and I've yet to experience everything there is!  Just tour in a way that you think will work best for your family and have a magical trip!
