Love the panel! Travelling with children ages 10,15 and 17. Any recommendations of how to carve out some adult only time? Is it possible to make separate dining reservations? Any other ideas? Thanks so much!

    Hi Sue,

My children are now teens too and we separate for part of the day so that we can each get some time on our own. You are certainly welcome to make separate dining reservations for the kiddos. I've done this many times myself. Go ahead and book them something fun like the Sci-Fi Dine-In while you and hubby get cuddly at the gourmet signature Brown Derby.

You may also want to book an adults-only behind-the-scenes tour at one of the parks, plan a couples massage or other spa experience for just the grown-ups, or simply send the kids to the park while you enjoy a book by the pool.

There are several articles on independent websites that may give you more ideas. Head over to blog.touringplans.com and find articles called, "Touring Walt Disney World Alone: Is Your Child Ready" and "Trip Planning 101: Celebrating at Walt Disney World" (ideas for special activities for adults).  At DisneyFoodBlog.com look for articles called, "10 Tips for Dining with Teens at Walt Disney World" and "Fun Without Characters."

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know what else we can do to help.
