Love the panel! I am looking for dining advise. Very overwhelmed by having to make so many ADRs. Traveling with DH and DD (age 3) 5/9-5/16. What are the best places to eat? We are staying at AKL w/ dining plan. I have some picky eaters also. Help!

    Hi Amy,

I have a house filled with picky eaters too!  Don't stress.  In my experience, I've found it easier to find something everyone would eat at Disney than at home!  The children's menus at both the table and counter service restaurants have a good selection of "kids standards" and some more interesting choices.  In addition, I've never had a problem asking for minor modifications from servers.  I've had things baked, not fried...fried, not baked...sauce removed...sauce added...and even had a "warm" dessert served ice cold!  Some of our favorite restaurants to visit when we have kids in tow are the buffets.  These tend to work really well for picky eaters because of the wide variety of choices, and the ability to take something else if your first choice doesn't pass the test.

Chef Mickey's, Boma (at the Animal Kingdom Lodge where you are staying), The Clam Bake at the Cape May Cafe (Beach Club), Biergarten in Germany and Play n' Dine at Hollywood Studios are some of my kids favorites.  Some of our favorite "non-buffets" with kids include the Sci-Fi Dine in Theater at Hollywood Studios (you get to sit in 1950s style convertibles and watch movies while you eat!) and Coral Reef at the Living Seas Pavilion at Epcot (all tables afford prime views of a floor to ceiling aquarium filled with ocean life, including sharks and an occasional diver!)

No matter how picky the eater, I've also found that dessert time as Disney is a truly magical event.  Many of the table service restaurants have amazing kid's desserts, including chocolate puzzles that have to be assembled and "painted" with strawberry, chocolate and pineapple sauce and make-your-own-sundaes equipped with Mickey Sprinkles!

    Bon Appetit!
