hi love the panel it's so helpful! i'll be visiting disney may 1-8 2010 and i will be traveling alone i know you specialize in family things but do you have any tips for a solo travler anything you would suggest to do when you don't have any kids in tow?

    Hi Stacie,

You are in luck! Yes, I love traveling to Disney World with my family and my friends, but I also love traveling there alone, and have been lucky enough to experience a number of trips like that.

The best parts of traveling solo, is the time to do everything you have always wanted to do and could not with others. I spent three hours inside One Man's Dream at Hollywood Studios reading every sign and exhibit. My kids would never stay that long and it was great to really absorb the attraction without calls for bathroom breaks or hunger pains. I also love solo trips as the time to enjoy some back scenes tours. You can find a great list and description here. I always make sure to book at least one or two tours on my solo trips. It is a perfect time to learn some fun and interesting facts about Disney World and a great chance to meet and interact with other guests and Cast Members.

One of my other favorite things to do is chat with the Cast Members. Many of them have amazing stories, tips and hidden facts to share and love to interact with guests that are interested. This is also a great time to really appreciate the buildings, sets, landscaping and more around the World. It is amazing to sit and really enjoy the fine touches that went in to each exhibit, building and attraction.

One of my favorite places to sit is near the Partners Statue at Magic Kingdom where you can enjoy the beauty of the Castle and Main Street as well as the smiles on the kids faces as they first enter the Magic Kingdom. Take the time to really enjoy and absorb the things that you love most at Disney World. If that is ten rides in a row on Splash Mountain, then go for it. If that is hours wandering every merchandise location then have a blast. Do what makes you happy as there is plenty to pick from.

    Enjoy!
