Love the panel. Going to DW with DS and DD (13th b-day surprise) in March 2015 for 5 days (arrive very early day 1 and leaving by 12 on 5th day). Do you feel park hopper pass option worth the extra $150? Thanks for the advice.

Well, Judy, I think you are going to get the some very special hugs when your daughter finds out her amazing birthday surprise! Your family is going to have so much fun.

While I love the park hopper for the ease and flexibility to switch parks during the day, it is a matter of personal preference and budget. If you think your family will want to spend an entire day at each of the parks, then I don't think it is necessary and you will save that money. However, if you think that you might easily be able to do a particular park in a half-day, then you might want to consider spending that extra money.

I would suggest getting a guidebook such as the "Birnbaum Guides: Walt Disney World" or "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Walt Disney World" by Doug Ingersoll (a Disney Parks Moms Panelist). With the help of these guidebooks, you can begin to read about the rides/attractions/shows and start planning your days. I always suggest picking out 3 must-dos for each day and making sure you plan around those so you are sure to make them the priority of the day. After getting a rough idea of what you plan to do, then you can determine if you will want to park hop. For example, my kids love Toy Story Mania, Star Tours, and meeting Lightning McQueen and Mater at Disney's Hollywood Studios. However, since two out of three of my kids are too small for most of the rides there, we tend to only spend a half day there. So, depending on your kids' likes and dislikes and personalities, you should be able to decide if there is a park that you might want to cut short or you might decide that 4 full days, one at each park, will work for you.

I hope this has helped. Have a fabulous time.
