Love this panel! Arriving on 6/16, staying at WL. We arrive at MCO at 4:44pm using the ME. Do you recommend that I have the luggage sent to the WL or should we retrieve it ourselves for time savings? If we retrieve it, do I put the ME tags on it?

    Hi Lisa,

I think if I had the choice I would collect my own luggage and bring it on the coach with me instead of wait for it to arrive at my WDW Resort later on.  I was told by a cast member on a recent trip who works for the Magical Express Service that this was not allowed and I believed her (because you have to believe when you're in Walt Disney World...right?), but I have since heard from the rest of the moms and dad on the panel here that they do it on many of their trips and of course it is allowed.  So now I have changed my philosophy and will do this on my next adventure to WDW.  On to your question though, well it really is a personal thing, Can you live without your luggage for at least 3 hours until it arrives at your resort?  If so, go ahead and let Disney do the work for you, otherwise I would collect it at Orlando International Airport Baggage Claim myself and bring it on the coach (they will stow it in an underneath compartment in the coach for you).  If you are collecting your own luggage, make sure you DO NOT put the luggage tags on as you will not see your suitcases if these are attached (the luggage is collected by Disney "behind the scenes" and the luggage tags let them know they can collect your bags!).

    Have a magical stay!
