LOVE the panel. Always informative and FUN to read! We have ADR 11/30 @ Crystal Palace @ 5PM, Wishes is @ 6PM that day, is there an outdoor seating area or window seat to request to view fireworks while dining here? Thanks for the advise in advance!!!

There is no outdoor seating at the Crystal Palace. Some parts of this restaurant do have window seats where you could possibly have a view of the castle (where much of the Wishes action takes place). Unfortunately, there is no way to request this seating in advance. If you have your heart set on a window seat, I would arrive early and ask at the podium to wait until a window seat became available. This could extend your dining time considerably or, depending on the size of your party, not be available at all. However, even with a window seat at the Crystal Palace, you might not be in the best position to see all of Wishes. Since much of the show is fireworks in the sky, you really need to have a clear view upwards, which is not really possible inside a ground-floor building.

In my experience, most buffet character meals take an hour to complete. If you're on time or a few minutes early for a 5:00 seating, you will likely be finishing your meal just as Wishes is starting. You could just step outside and view the entire show from the terrace around the Crystal Palace. There are some lovely viewing spots there.

If you want to make sure that you're done with your meal in time, my hubby invented this time-saving trick for Disney buffet restaurants. Since you seem like such a nice person :-), I'll share it with you: When we're at WDW buffets, hubby asks for the check at the beginning of the meal. Since there's no need to add on any dessert or coffee fees at the end of the meal (those items are included in the price), the server can figure how much your bill will be right when you walk in the door (also works for the dining plan, by the way). You can get the bill-paying done in advance, while you're still eating, so you're not waiting around the check while you'd rather be out touring. Obviously this is not necessary, or even enjoyable, if you're in total leisure mode, but if you're running out to catch a parade or show, then this can be a good time saving tool.
