Love you guys. Can you tell me the age range for the activities for AKL resort. I was reading about some of the kids activities and they sound so fun but I'm worried my kids, ages 11 & 9, might be too old.

    Hi Michele,

Thanks for the kind words. We love being able to help other guests plan their Disney World vacations.

I actually happen to be looking at a copy of some Animal Kingdom Lodge activities from my most recent stay. There are a number of fun things going on there daily and I am sure your children will find plenty to interest them, I know my 7, 9 ad 13 year old always do.

Some of the activities during our stay included ceramics and jewelry making where you could create your own masterpiece, pin trading, African games and crafts, face painting, cookie decorating, animal tracking and habitat exploration (where you could learn more about the animals at the resort), folktale storytelling time, a music class to learn to play an African instrument and a nightly instrument parade.  A few of the activities do have a small fee and most of the activities are designed for children between the ages of 4-12, although everyone is always welcome.

In addition to this sampling of events, each afternoon there are activities and games that typically go on at the pools (weather permitting of course) at both Jambo House and Kidani Village, These included bean bags, bingo, water volleyball and limbo to name a few.

My kids were never at a loss for something to do and they had a blast and never once commented to me that the activities were boring or "they were to old for that". A full list of activities can be obtained at the resort's front desks and are also listed on the board in the main lobby.
