Hi! I love all the efforts to cut down on plastic waste. Got a Rapid Refill mug for the first time last trip - can I pay to “reload” refills onto this same mug on my next trip? Happy to pay the same price, just don’t want to waste another plastic mug.

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Kelly!

Aren’t the Rapid Fill Resort Refillable Mugs fantastic? I love having a mug on hand to fill with soda, coffee, and tea throughout my stay, and now that Disney has started offering a variety of seasonal designs, I’ve started quite the collection. I can’t get enough of the Bat Mickey on last year’s Halloween mug!

Like you, I’m thrilled to see The Walt Disney Company’s efforts to reduce plastic waste in the theme parks. I share your desire to see the Resort Refillable Mugs become reusable from visit to visit – it seems like an easy win to me. At this time, the mugs are valid for length of stay and cannot be reused, but I encourage you to call Guest Relations at (407) 939-5277 and let them know that you’d like to see this change. They should also be able to provide you with an email or mailing address for Guest experience feedback. Our friends Wall-E and Eve thank you for thinking about conservation!

Over in the Disneyland Resort theme parks, an Annual Passholder Refillable Tumbler become available this summer, allowing Annual Passholders who purchase the tumbler to reuse it over multiple visits, paying a small fee for refills. I’m hoping this is a pilot to get a sense of interest in this type of program and that maybe we’ll see something similar at the Walt Disney World Resort. The promotion sold out quickly, which gives me some hope, and I know lots of us have pixie dusted wishes for a similar promotion in Florida.

For now, though, Kelly, I hope you enjoy your Resort Refillable Mug as a souvenir of your Walt Disney World Resort vacation, and that you smile each time you use it. I have quite a collection, and we use them when young children are visiting, take them camping, and sometimes even use them for Disney movie nights. I even keep one at work for when I really need a mental trip to my happy place!

Thanks for this great question, and please come back and see us if we can answer any more questions as you plan your next visit!

    Have a zip-a-dee-doo-dah day,
    Robyn
