I lost my wife during childbirth in Oct 2011. We took our oldest daughter to DW for her 5th bday in 2010. We promised to take our younger daughter on her 5th and I am following through with that in May 2012. Please advise what I must do 2 make special

Hi, Patrick!  I wish I could give you a big hug!  How wonderful that you have the opportunity to spend your daughter's birthday in Walt Disney World, creating the memories you and your wife had planned!

There are many things you can do to help make this vacation special.  Maybe make a reservation at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for a princess makeover, or maybe even a pirate makeover at the Pirates League.

Consider a Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage, to give her the best seat in the house for the Wishes Fireworks from the Magic Kingdom.  The snacks at the Contemporary before your voyage and the voyage itself are filled with laughter and stories, as well as some face time with your favorite Neverland characters.

The Grand Floridian hosts My Disney Girl's Perfectly Princess tea party, but even if that's not quite what you had in mind, my now six year old has always felt like such a grown up going to regular tea at the Garden View Lounge.

For extra pixie dust, check out The Disney Florist.  They have gifts that fit any budget and every personality.  You can even order a special birthday cake by calling 407-827-2253.

And Patrick, try to include some things on this vacation that your wife did with your older daughter on her special birthday vacation.  Remind your little one how much Mommy wanted to be with her to celebrate, and do something that will keep your wife's memory a highlight of your trip.  You can tell your daughter that Mommy knew she'd be there and left smiles hidden all over the place for her to find, then take pictures of all her biggest and brightest smiles, so she'll know she found them!

I hope this trip brings continued healing to your hearts.
