Hi Lori, I am registered for my FIRST runDisney 1/2 marathon in Jan. and am hoping to register for a half at WDW after that. Can you recommend a WDW half marathon to follow the Tinkerbell? Can you earn the Coast-to-Coast medal for 1/2 marathons? Than

    Hi Danielle!

Yes!  The Coast-to-Coast medals are earned by completing two runDisney half marathons or more (which means the full marathon at Disney World in January) in the same calendar year.

There are three half marathons at Walt Disney World.  They include the Walt Disney World Half Marathon in January during marathon weekend, the Princess Half Marathon in February, and (my favorite) the Wine and Dine Half Marathon in November.  (obviously, these are the current races, and can be added to or deleted from year to year)

My recommendation would be to go for the Wine and Dine Half Marathon in November.  It's my all-time favorite race.  I love how the course goes through three different parks and I also love all the Christmas decor and music spread throughout.  The race is run at night, and finishes with a post-race party inside of Epcot until the wee hours of the next day:)

Additionally, the January half marathon and Princess half marathon for 2014 are already sold out.  If you really want to go for one of those, you can still enter by joining a charity group or by booking with a travel operator.  You can find details about those groups on the runDisney website.  Just click on which event weekend you are looking for, then the tab "REGISTRATION".

There is a special PINK Coast-to-Coast medal that is for runners who complete the Tinkerbell in January and the Princess in February, so you may consider that as you decide.

I hope this information helps!  Please let me know if I can help you in any other way.
