Hi Lori, Husband and I are signed up for the Dopey Challenge. We are going to bring our 2 boy (8&10) Planning this seems overwhelming. We can't figure out the best place to stay and we are not sure if they can run the 5k with us. Any advice?

    Hi Linda!

That is very exciting that you are your husband are running the Dopey together!  I can't wait for marathon weekend:)

The good news is that all of the Disney Resorts are host resorts for marathon weekend.  This means all of them will have buses running to and from each race weekend event.  So, you can choose which resort best fits your budget and theme preference.  My family's favorite resort is the Beach Club.  We love being able to walk into Epcot and either walk or take a ferry to Hollywood Studios as those are my boys' favorite parks.

If the boys are already signed up for the 5K, then they can run it with you.  However, it is sold out, so if they aren't registered, then I am afraid it won't work this year.  There are still spots left open in the Kids Races. My boys love doing the Mickey Mile!

If you are looking for childcare, I highly recommend Kids Nite Out.  They contract with Disney and the childcare workers will come directly to your resort room.  This would be beneficial for not having to wake them up so early on race mornings.  I have used them before and my boys loved them.  Their website is www.kidsniteout.com.

I hope this helps!  Please let me know if you have any other questions!!
