Lori, We are thinking about a trip to Disney World in June with a 8,6 & 3 year old. Any advice on where to stay and how to make the best use of our time so that each child can have a fun experience?

Hi Deborah! First, I would definitely stay at a Disney World resort.  Each one has free transportation to all Disney areas. It is a travel time-saver and priceless for taking little ones back for afternoon naps.  If your budget is tight, the Value Resorts are great and they provide buses to all Disney areas. The Deluxe resorts are the closest to the parks. Our favorite is the Beach Club. It has our favorite pool and we spend most of our time at Epcot. The Epcot area resorts are close to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. You can walk to either one, or take a quick trip on a ferry.  The Grand Floridian, Polynesian, and Contemporary are great for families that plan to spend the most time at the Magic Kingdom because they share the monorail. Animal Kingdom Lodge is closest to the Animal Kingdom park. We have discovered that the Animal Kingdom park does not take nearly as long to explore than others, so we generally don't stay there. It is an amazing resort though and you can even wake up with a giraffe at your balcony if you get the savannah view rooms! There are also moderate level resorts to check out. Next on the agenda is to make your dining reservations. You can then plan your days around them by choosing to go to parks where you have a reservation for that day or parks that are near the resorts where you have dining plans. Chef Mickey's and Donald's Safari Breakfast are our favorite character meals.  Ohana's at the Polynesian is another must for my family. I suggest splitting up for a couple of hours to ride rides as your children may not all be able to or want to ride the same things. That way each child will have their own "special" time where they get to make choices without brother or sister complaining! Plan to meet back together at meals, parades, fireworks, and family type shows and rides.  Check out the mom's view answers in the right-hand column on the moms panel home page for tons of great "off the beaten path" advice!
