We are looking at visiting and debating on Mid Feb. or Mid May, Is there anything going on either of these times? Which would be better for small children?

    Hi, there!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Rachel. We're so pleased to hear you're planning another Walt Disney World Resort vacation!

I think the best time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort is ANY time. That said, I'm a teacher and I have school-aged children, so my family usually travels in the summer months. Certain times of the year are more convenient for families than others! I'm happy to help you choose between February and May for your next visit.

February is a great time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort. The weather is usually mild and the crowds are typically light! The week of President's Day can be exceptionally busy, but benefits like Extra Magic Hours and FastPass+ help Guests minimize wait times in the theme parks. The Epcot International Festival of the Arts occurs in February, and it's my favorite of all the Epcot festivals. This celebration of the visual, culinary, and performing arts is not to be missed! There are kid-friendly experiences at the Epcot International Festival of the Arts including Animation Academy and Figment's Brush with the Masters Scavenger Hunt.

Magic is in full bloom in May. This time of year is the perfect time to enjoy the unique Resort hotel pools and the you-may-get-wet attractions in the theme parks. Crowds in mid-May should be fairly light too! The Spring season hosts the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival, which is budding with magical experiences for kids of all ages. Little ones will especially appreciate the exploratory gardens and interactive play gardens!

If it were me, I would choose mid-May for a Walt Disney World Resort vacation over mid-February. My kids just love an afternoon swim in our Disney Resort hotel pool, so they will always pick warm weather over cooler weather in Orlando. If you and your family are not fans of the heat, though, I would travel in February instead!

I hope this was helpful, Rachel. Please visit us again soon with any new questions you may have about traveling to the Walt Disney World Resort with little ones in tow!
