Hello !! Looking to visit Disney World in Oct, of 2015 I will be traveling with a party of total of 6 , 3 adults and 3 children and the one adult is in her 70's it will be her first visit to Disney!! What resort would you recommend to make it a magical ??

    Chuck:

This is one of the best times of the year to visit Disney World, and a year from now the resort will be just as spectacular with its understated yet fanciful fall decorations at both the individual resorts and parks. If I could give you one recommendation to make your visit both magical but also logistically smooth, I'd encourage you to stay in one of the properties with 2-bedroom villas that are in proximity to the parks that the children in your party will want to visit most.

Bay Lake Villas and the villas at the Grand Floridian would both be excellent choices if you think you'll spend most of your time at the Magic Kingdom. They will also have monorail service to Epcot. If you'll be headed to Disney's Hollywood Studios and have older teenage children who might enjoy exploring the Boardwalk, you may want to opt for Beach Club Villas or Boardwalk Villas that are within walking distance to Epcot and DHS and also have boat service. Our family loves the fact that we can walk back to our room in 10 minutes. If you're looking for views, I love Bay Lake Villas view of the water and Board Walk's view of Crescent Lake.

Opting to upgrade to a two-bedroom gives you plenty of room and privacy for everyone not to mention a full kitchen to make a few meals to help offset the cost. But my favorite amenity is the extra bathroom. Whether one of the adults in your party needs more privacy or you have teenage daughters who take 20-minute showers, you'd be surprised what having extra room and bathroom space can do for you while on vacation, even if you are planning to spend all of your time in the parks. It can bring a vacation from mediocre to magical.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
