I am looking to Travel to WDW in late April 2013 Which Resorts have a suite set up or 1 bedroom? We are a family of 4, but I want to be separate from my kids. I like the Art of Animartion, but I am just curious if what else there is out there.

    Hi Kelli,

Like you, I prefer a one-bedroom or suite-type setup when vacationing with my family. There are many options for this type of accommodation at Walt Disney World.

As you mentioned, Disney's Art of Animation Resort has family suites, with themes based on the movies Cars, Finding Nemo, and The Lion King. In addition, Disney's All-Star Music Resort has similar family suites. Our family very much enjoys staying in The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. The cabins are free standing and themed to a campground. They have a living area, a full kitchen, bathroom and a bedroom. For sleeping arrangements, the bedroom has a double bed plus bunk beds, and in the living room is a murphy bed that can sleep two.

I would also suggest looking into the Disney Vacation Club properties. These are often booked by Disney Vacation Club members using their vacation points; however, there is typically inventory available for reservations by non-members using traditional payment methods. These resorts are Disney's Beach Club Villas, Disney's BoardWalk Villas, Disney's Old Key West Resort, Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa, Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas, Bay Lake Tower at Contemporary Resort, and The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. Each of these resorts offers one-bedroom villas which include a living room, a full kitchen and bathroom, and a bedroom. In most cases, the living area has a pull out couch that will sleep two people, and the bedroom has a king bed. Another bonus in a Disney Vacation Club one-bedroom villa: they have washers and dryers in the units!

Reservations for any of these resorts can be made by calling 407-W-DISNEY (407-934-7639).  Have a great vacation, Kelli, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions!
