We are looking at taking a Disney Cruise in the upcoming year and I had a question about port adventures at Nassau. Nothing really seems like something we would like to do, so I was wondering if there were shops and restaurants at the port itself ?

    Ahoy, Annette!

Our family has taken four cruises that had a stop in Nassau, and only one time did we actually venture off of the ship. We prefer staying onboard and enjoying all that the ship has to offer, with less passengers!

There is a market right as you get off the ship at the port. There are many local vendors selling a variety of different items. My girls were twelve and eight when we decided to give shopping a try. They were uncomfortable with being in the market, and did not like the local vendors talking to them. We did not stay in the market too long for this reason. I do not remember there being any restaurants that I saw.

On other visits to Nassau, instead of getting off the ship, we have participated in the Midship Detective Agency game. This is a great way to learn the layout of the ship and have a lot of fun at the same time! We have also enjoyed fun in the sun by the pool, and ridden the AquaDuck many times in a row. We will also check the Daily Navigator for movies that might be showing at this time, character greetings, or family trivia games.

I hope this helps with your cruise planning. Please let us know if we can answer more questions for you.

    Happy Cruising, Tracy V.
