We are looking at staying on property May 21-31. Working on airline tickets and we won't be arriving to the resort till 2:00 am or later on the 22. So how does that work? Do we have to pay for the 21? Thanks

    Hi, Traci!

Unfortunately, if you want a room upon arrival at your Disney resort, you are going to have to book it beginning May 21. If you book it starting May 22, you cannot officially check-in until 7:00 am and your room might not be ready until 3:00 pm.

If I were arriving at this time, I would probably opt to spend that night at the Hyatt Regency inside the Orlando Airport. You can get off the plane and in minutes be in your hotel room in a cozy bed. In the morning, you can have your Magical Express transportation scheduled to take you to your resort. In this case, make a Hyatt reservation for the 21st, then start your Disney reservation for the 22nd.

If you really want to go straight to your resort, Disney's Magical Express is available 24 hours a day, but the luggage service stops at 10:00 pm so you will need to retrieve your own checked luggage. The bus ride is about 45 minutes from the airport to your resort.

If you decide to stay at the Orlando airport that night, call Disney's Magical Express when you are scheduling your transportation to explain you are not hopping on the bus until morning. They can work out your plans for you to make sure you are able to head to the magic as soon as you wake up rested after a long night of travel.

Have a magical stay in Walt Disney World!
