We are looking into staying at Port Orleans Riverside in April 2020. Are the preferred rooms really worth the extra costs compared to the garden views? The kids range from 13 to 2 1/2. Thanks.

    Dear Mary,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you for bringing us your question about one of my favorite resorts on site, Disney's Port Orleans Riverside! Its lively ambiance with live performers in the dining area yet peaceful atmosphere with a gorgeous landscape! It's just perfect!

My mom has a bad knee and she absolutely loved staying in a room that was literally a few steps from dining, the lobby, and the gift shop. It made such a difference for her! In other cases, sometimes we have to bring her drinks from the dining hall and she has to depend on us to get her a snack or something from the shop. Her room in building fourteen gave her the independence she needed to enjoy her stay on a different level! Not only were we happy to see her move around with ease but it was a great time saver for everybody!  We were super close to Riverside Mill Food Court, Boatwright's Dining Hall and Fulton's General Store; it was really convenient. Be sure to try some of their recreational activities, such as biking, horse-drawn carriage rides, fishing, jogging, poolside yoga, even a campfire on de' Bayou! You'll have a blast!

Mary, I hope I have helped you make up your mind. You will have a wonderful (and more efficient) time at Disney's Port Orleans Riverside!

    See ya real soon!

Meet the Panelist: Desiree, Peru

Hi! I'm Desiree from Lima, Peru. My family will never ever tire of visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth, even if means traveling almost 3,000 miles to do so! My husband and I love to watch the fireworks with our kids, but the best magic happens when the grandparents come along and we all feel the same age in front of Cinderella Castle! I love giving tips about different types of resorts and traveling with multigenerational groups.
