We're looking at staying at the Grand Californian Resort and are wondering if the Studio room can accommodate a cot? We are bringing our two kids who would prefer not to sleep on the sofa bed together. Are cots available?

    Hello Mary-Lou!

While I have yet to stay at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, I have visited and dined there. On my trip to the Disneyland Resort last year, I even took a free walking tour of the hotel called “The Art of the Craft” where I learned quite a bit about the hotel’s Arts and Crafts architecture and many of the magical details that have been designed into the hotel. If you do decide to stay there, I highly recommend this tour! Of all the resorts in the Disneyland Resort area, I think Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is the nicest. With a soaring lobby, exceptional dining, and the absolute best location available, staying here is definitely in my plans for my next visit. You can walk right out the door of the hotel and into either Downtown Disney or Disney's Californian Adventure Theme Park!

As the mother of four, I totally understand the kids not wanting share a sleeping space. Disney Resorts and Hotels do not provide cots at either Walt Disney World or Disneyland. But I do have a few options for you. I spoke with Judy, a fabulous Cast Member at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa regarding your situation. In keeping with the woodsy feel of the hotel, they do offer sleeping bags and mats to accommodate a Guest who does not wish to share a bed. This would be something you could ask for in a Deluxe Studio accommodation. Alternately, you could consider booking a non-villa accommodation. Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa does offer rooms that feature two queen beds and a day bed. This would allow each of your children to have their own sleeping space.

I hope that helps your planning, Mary-Lou. Please let us know what other questions you have as you plan your magical Disneyland adventure!
