I am looking for someplace or something to do for a date night with my husband. We will be celebrating our anniversary while in Disney. Maybe a dinner reservation someplace overlooking the fireworks. This is our 1st time in Disney.

    Hi Kristina!

Wow, a first visit to Walt Disney World and a wedding anniversary! I'm so excited for you!

I definitely have some ideas, so let's see if any of these will work:

Idea #1 - Dinner at the California Grill.

Since you mentioned eating at a restaurant that overlooked a fireworks display, this might be the perfect spot. Being perched at the top of Disney's Contemporary Resort, you'll get an amazing view of the Magic Kingdom as well as the nightly fireworks display.

(P.S. - The California Grill will re-open on September 9th and the buzz about the new menu and decor has been really strong!)

Idea #2 - Dinner at Victoria & Albert's in Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

While you won't see any fireworks displays from this restaurant, the glare from the collection of AAA Five Diamond Awards will certainly be a nice substitute. I know a few hardcore foodies who travel to Walt Disney World just to dine at this restaurant. (Actually, it's more of a culinary experience than just a restaurant!)

    Idea #3 - A Fireworks Cruise.

There are a variety of private cruises you can book for viewing the fireworks at either the Magic Kingdom or at Epcot. You can even book the Grand One, a 52-foot yacht to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks while enjoying a meal via the on-board butler service. To find out more about the options and prices, you can call the Specialty Cruises team at: (407) 939-7529.

Here's a bonus idea from your buddy Derek:

A stroll along the beach at Disney's Polynesian Resort is a very romantic way to watch the Magic Kingdom's fireworks. Grab a pre-show dinner at 'Ohana and you'll have a recipe for a fantastic evening!

I hope that helps! If you'd like some other ideas, please feel free to write back and I'll be happy to share a few more of my favorites!

    Best regards,
    Derek
