Looking for recommendations on places to stay on a low budget for a family of 6. Two adults and 4 kids (ages 13, 5, 7, and 7). Thank you so much.

    Hi Amanda,
Thanks for submitting your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I know how tough it can be to vacation on a budget with a family of six! Here are my suggestions for places to stay to visit the Walt Disney World Resort: first, there's the off property option. There are many hotels that have close proximity and some that even offer shuttle or bus service. Discount vacation sites can assist you in finding those hotels.

However, if you want to immerse yourself in the magic, there is nothing like staying on site at the Walt Disney World Resort. The least expensive option requires a little adventure: Fort Wilderness offers camp sites that will accommodate you and your family. Bring a tent and "rough it" for your vacation! Don't worry, there are still showers and restroom facilities available at the comfort stations located throughout the Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort.

The next step up in price are the Value Resorts, which include the Art of Animation, the All-Star resorts and Pop Century. I've stayed at all of these resorts over the years and they are all fantastic. You can either reserve two rooms to accommodate your family of six or opt for one of the family suites available at Art of Animation or Disney's All-Star Music Resort.

Lastly, we head back to Fort Wilderness but this time to explore the Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. These sleep six and are a ton of fun, plus they include full kitchens to further help you stretch your vacation dollar. You are welcome to pack your lunch daily and bring it into the parks and then return to your cabin to make dinner for the evening.

Amanda, I hope my suggestions have helped you choose the best resort for you and your family.

    Best Wishes,
    Amy B.
