We are looking to purchase the 14 day ticket which states it includes the magic bands but we aren’t staying in a Disney hotel. Will we still receive the magic band?

Hi there, Laura Jane! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for allowing us to help you plan your Walt Disney World Resort vacation!

The introduction of the MagicBand system at Walt Disney World Resort has completely changed the vacation game! This all-in-one device allows Guests to be admitted into FastPass+ selections, enter into all theme and water parks, and connect Disney PhotoPass images to your My Disney Experience account. For Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel, MagicBands may also be used to unlock the door of your Disney Resort hotel room and charge refreshment and merchandise purchases to your Disney Resort hotel room. MagicBands are a great way to connect with your vacation plans while also packing lighter when visiting the parks!

Guests that are staying at a Disney Resort hotel or those that are Walt Disney World Annual Passholders will automatically receive a MagicBand. Those that are purchasing tickets through the official Walt Disney World website and are not staying at a Disney Resort hotel will receive a card that acts as a ticket for park admission instead of a MagicBand. However, Guests that do not receive a MagicBand automatically can actually buy them online, on the shopDisney app, or at select Walt Disney World shops and retail locations. I actually love purchasing my own MagicBand since this allows me to be a bit more creative in my style selection! There are a wide variety of MagicBands available for purchase that range from Millennial Pink to some of my favorite Disney Characters like Stitch!

Hopefully this provides a bit more information regarding the MagicBand system!
