Christmas on Main Street

After looking at all the magic of Christmas at Disney, we're planning on a holiday vacation. The earliest we could arrive is Dec. 31. Will there still be any holiday events or parades? How about decorations at the parks and resorts?

Happy Holidays, Julie! I know it's still early January, but it's never too soon to plan a holiday visit to the Walt Disney World Resort here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

You put it perfectly, Julie. Christmas at Walt Disney World is truly magical. From the Theme Parks to the Resort hotels, everything just seems to shine a little brighter. I'm so excited for you to experience it!

My family always takes a holiday trip to Walt Disney World, but for the last few years, our busy schedule has pushed our visit to New Year's weekend. And let me tell you, New Year's at Walt Disney World is a blast - literally! The Magic Kingdom Park and Epcot go all-out on New Year's Eve, with incredible fireworks shows at the stroke of midnight, and some Resort hotels offer great views of the fireworks, too!

Beyond the New Year's Eve merriment, many of the special holiday events continue well into January. Some events, like Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays, wrap up their run in December, but there's still plenty of holiday fun to be had! This year, celebrations like the Flurry of Fun at Disney's Hollywood Studios and the Christmas Tree Trail at Disney Springs ran through January 6, and many of the Christmas decorations will stay up at least a few days after we ring in the new year. The gingerbread house at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is usually only up until January 1, though, so be sure to run over and see it early if it's a priority.

Julie, even if your vacation starts a little later in the season, you can still enjoy the Christmas spirit at Walt Disney World Resort. I wish you a wonderful year ahead and a happy Disney holiday!

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
